The details
We recommend that you seek professional assistance (from a solicitor or trustee company) and consult your whānau when preparing your Will. It’s important to remember that your can take care of your loved ones, and still leave a life-changing gift to the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust.
There are several ways to leave a gift in your Will to the Trust. You can choose the method that works best for you and your family.
Residuary Bequest – This is a gift of what is left or the remainder of your estate after all expenses have been paid and your loved ones have been provided for.
Pecuniary Bequest – This is a gift of a specific cash amount in your Will, for example $10,000.
Specified Bequest – This is a gift of a particular item of value that is gifted to the Trust in your Will.
Here is some wording you might like to use:
“I give to the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust (registered charity number CC27146) ___% of my estate OR the rest and residue of my estate OR the sum of $___ OR (details of a specific item) for its general purposes free of probate and estate duties payable upon or in consequence of my death. I declare that the receipt of its CEO or other authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge to my executors.”
Inclusion of a story and/or an endorsement would be great.
